We've just recieved word of the latest songs revealed for tween friendly music game Band Hero. The big focus of Band Hero seems to be young Taylor Swift, featuring her in three different songs as well as an in-game avatar. If you were looking to "rock out" to You Belong With Me, Picture to Burn, and Love Story, you'll get the chance on November 3.
Another trailer for LEGO Indiana Jones 2 The Adventure Continues has been released. If you were like me, and guessing that the sequel would be based solely on the most recent Indy film, well, you'd be wrong. All new levels based on unused scenes from the original Indy trilogy will be included. Of course, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull levels are appearing in LEGO form for the first time. The trailer gives us good looks at new heroes and vehicles, plus the level editor. Gotta love the tagline: "Where there's a whip, there's a way." (Insert wildly inappropriate joke here.)
Sure Serious Sam is all about kicking ass and taking names in the name of ass kickery. Normally Sam likes to blow his enemies into tiny bloody bits, generally making a red mess wherever he goes, and a wake of destruction behind him.
The above screen is the first shot from EA's Battleforge that shows off the game's DirectX 11 support. The game's developer and EA have announced that Battleforge is the first game to feature DX11 support, though you'll still need a DX11 card to take advantage of that. Currently only Radeon 5870 and 5850 cards support it.
Anyone who pays any attention to video game releases knows about exclusive pre-order deals for in-game content. Until a year ago, that content was a statue, a figure, a hat, or something we'd consider "swag" in the gaming world. That all changed when retailers and publishers started releasing codes for in-game content. It started off as a gold-colored Lancer for Gears of War 2, or a Warthog with flames on the sides for Halo Wars. While these were merely collectibles that changed in-game aesthetics, it has recently evolved to game-altering exclusives. I'm talking about exclusive characters or gameplay modes that could potentially change the experience of the game itself.
Somewhere in the middle of mythical Sweden, Arrowhead Game Studios is working on something so profound, so cooperative, so...Action/RPG you'll wet your pants. That something, is Magicka - an online/offline 4 player co-op Action/RPG set for a 2010 release on Xbox LIVE Arcade and other digital distribution. Co-optimus.com has the not-so-exclusive run-down of what to expect with Magicka, as well as a trailer featuring self-aware humor, and screen shots to make your mouth water.
Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising should be on retailer shelves today or tomorrow, so to get you even more excited for the four player co-op tactical shooter, we've got a fresh batch of screenshots and a launch trailer that'll make your shorts pop right off!
As music games go, DJ Hero has one of the biggest set lists out of the box we've seen to date. With almost 100 songs to play, you're sure to work up some arm muscles scratching discs on your plastic turntable by the time you make it through the full set.
A new batch of games has been given "Platinum Hits" status from Microsoft. "Platinum Hits" are value priced editions of well reviewed, high selling titles. Out of the five titles selected, three of them feature co-op: Grand Theft Auto IV, Left 4 Dead, and Saint's Row 2! If you haven't picked up a copy of one of these yet, perhaps now is the time.
Nick and Mike are back for another solid episode of the Co-Opticast. There's plenty of controversial news on the table to chat about, including digital distribution and Activision's corporate policies.
When the original Left 4 Dead launched with a marketing budget of 10 million dollars, we were quite impressed. That's chump change compared to the Benjamins being thrown behind Left 4 Dead 2, something to the tune of 25 million dollars.
Last week we unveiled a special director's cut of Resident Evil 5. Titled the Alternate Edition, the content is being released in Japan in disc format on the PlayStation 3. In the rest of the world though? That's still up in the air.
