Poor, poor Wii gamers.  There's much to love about Nintendo's system, but when it comes to multi-console franchises, the Wii just falls short (with a few notable exceptions).  The fabled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is headed to the Wii this fall, and it will be quite different from its brothers on more powerful consoles.  All is not lost, however; there will be co-op in Modern Warfare, which was lacking from the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.  Great news, right?

The latest class for upcoming co-op blockbuster Diablo III has been revealed.  The Monk joins Barbarian, Witch Doctor, and Wizard to take down Diablo's minions.  Gotta love the nice nod to the monk class inclusion in the expansion for the first Diablo, Hellfire.  The monk is pretty good with a bo staff, so you might want one in your co-op gang.  Two more words: reflecting fireballs.  Woot!

It feels like a good weekend to catch up on some missed gaming.

Undoubtedly the most asked for feature on our site when a game is announced is "couch co-op."  Couch Co-Op or split screen co-op allows two or more players to play in the same room on the same console with one copy of the game.  It used to be the only way to play a co-op game until online modes came around, but thankfully it's not a complete lost art.

Kotaku got the scoop on some new details for the Special Ops co-op missions in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, several of which alleviate some of the pain of the lack of a proper co-op campaign.

Madballs in..Babo: Invasion has a new incentive to use your Madballs online. Playbrains, the masterminds behind this insanely fun co-op action, wants you to dress up your Balls with the free (for a limited time) Obsidian Magmor skin.

Last night we had our first Halo 3 Co-Op night in over a year, and I think most of the staff can give it a resounding success.  We've uploaded some photos of the action, and posted some recounts from the staff members who played.

Gearbox has released some fresh screens for Borderlands, hot off the digital press from GamesCom in Germany.  The game is really looking gorgeous now, and it really makes us glad the art style changed.  It really makes the game stand out amongst the crowd.

European PlayStation Network users have been enjoying this feature for some time, but now us North Americans can compare PlayStation 3 trophies via the official website.  There's a host of new features to the site along with this, my favorite which allows you to compare trophies to multiple friends.

Despite a delay until next year, the Army of Two: 40th Day media keeps on rolling.  The latest trailer unveils the game's villain, named Jonah.  Just look at that menacing grimace, the bushy eyebrows, and the pale skin.  It's definitely going to take some fancy co-op action to bring down that guy!

The Lost Planet 2 demo went up yesterday, and most of the Co-Optimus staff rushed home to play it as soon as possible.  Our impressions of the demo range from giddiness (me) to grumpiness (Mike) and everything in between.  We're interested to know: what are your thoughts on the demo?  Did it sell you a copy of the game?  Or save you $60?

Has Amazon.com ever got a deal for you! Okay, I'm not a salesperson, but Co-optimus thought you might like to know that you can pre-order Halo 3: ODST for a $15 *Amazon.com credit! Spend the standard $60 for a brand new, fully co-opable, Halo game - and get the $15 amazon.com credit toward ANOTHER wonderful co-op game (or Batman: Arkham Asylum) just by entering the code HALOODST when you check out.
