Perhaps you want to pick up Uncharted 2: Among Thieves for the game's co-op multiplayer mode. Perhaps. The reality is, you are going to want the single player more than anything, and that's OK in our book. The first game was an amazing piece of interactive entertainment on the PlayStation 3, and the second one looks to continue that tradition.
PixelJunk Monsters on the PSN was a solid co-op tower defense game. Now Sony and the Pixel Junk team are bringing the game on the road in Pixel Junk Monsters Deluxe for the PSP.
After being somewhat diminished to obscurity, Borderlands has come back with a vengeance in the past few months. It all started with a little announcement about a change in graphical style, and now we've got full on live demos on the E3 show floor.
The Guitar Hero games have long been very co-op friendly, and that trend will continue in DJ Hero. We have a gallery available for your viewing pleasure, and if the above screenshot is any indication, there will be two player turntable action. Fret not (rims shot here), plastic guitar lovers, a very cool turntable/guitar combo mode is in the game as well. Want to see how it works? Check out the hands on video of this cool new co-op option, courtesy Joystiq.
There's still very little details about LittleBigPlanet for the PSP, we aren't exactly sure what it will contain. And while the latest screens only show one SackBoy, it's be pretty much video game suicide to not include co-op in the next incarnation of this title.
Metal Gear Solid made several appearances at E3, including a whole new game for the Xbox360, and a PSP "sequel" to Metal Gear Solid 3. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is set 10 years after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3, covering the conflict that lead to creation of the original Metal Gear's "Outer Heaven."
The rumors have been swirling about for some time, and now we know they are true. In the Sony keynote at E3 today, Jack Tretton mentioned that Lost Planet 2 is indeed headed to the PS3. Previously, the game was only officially confirmed for Xbox 360. This news is not really too surprising, as the first game was eventually available for both systems, too.
Hot on the heels of our coverage of the new Mario game's announcement, we've got even more for you. The E3 trailer for the game is embedded below, and in our Youtube channel (with lots of other E3 goodies, I must add), and we've got a gallery showing off some of the screen shots for the game, too.
A new Mario game being announced by Nintendo isn't exactly amazing news, but the latest Mario title is a little bit different, especially for co-op fans. At their E3 press conference, Nintendo revealed New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The game seems to be more closely related to New Super Mario Bros. for the DS than to Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii.
Um...okay. Tecmo is apparently set to release the above quirky arcade platformer, titled Fret Nice, in 2010. If you think the name and visual style are strange (yes, that is an actual screenshot), consider this: the game controls are mapped to your Guitar Hero or Rock Band guitar controller of choice.
Yesterday Microsoft surprised us when they announced Crackdown 2 for the Xbox 360 at their E3 2009 conference. At the time there were very few details of the game available, and we were unsure if the co-op mode would expand beyond the first's two player drop-in/drop-out.
