I was pretty surprised last night when I signed onto Xbox Live and joined a party of folks playing Crackdown.  Three separate co-op groups were playing and I wondered if I missed some memo.  How did this impromptu session of one of the most fun co-op games start? They said it only took one person playing before the rest wanted to join in, that just shows the longevity and great co-op fun that game has.  They wanted more!

Yesterday we told you about the console version of HAWX being available, though some members of our site had a hard time finding it.  In the post we mentioned that the PC version of the game was set to be released next week, but it looks like that's not the case anymore.

The epic battle of a band of space marines against seemingly insurmountable odds, Dawn of War 2 is a unique combination of an RTS and an RPG.  We dig deep into the game's two player co-op campaign to find out just who will be the last race standing.  Our review is right ahead.

In case you've been living under a rock, there's this little comic book movie coming out this week: Watchmen.  It just happens to be the greatest story ever told in comic book format, and the hype for the movie's release has been through the roof.  The inevitable movie tie-in game bucks the usual trend, releasing on XBLA and PSN instead of retail.  The first of a series of episodic content, Watchmen: The End Is Nigh will set you back $20.  (Seems high to me!  Who do they think we are, Ozymandias?)

We really, really, really wish we'd gotten a hold of IGN's question list for their latest interview with Terminal Reality's Brendan Goss before it went live. A two-page article chock full of interesting new Ghostbusters: The Video Game details, the interview unfortunately almost fails at getting new co-op info.

While a lot of folks are stale on the whole World War II genre of game, plenty of developers are trying to mix things up with alternate history scenarios.  Codename Panzers: Cold War, the third in the series, is doing just that on the PC.  Players take control of squads in this RTS game in a history where Soviet and US forces collide in an epic battle.  

Tom Clancy's HAWX comes out today for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, PC gamers will see their version hit next week.  For those that don't know, the game is an flight simulator that teeters on the arcade side of gameplay.  Set in the familiar universe of Tom Clancy where the world is constantly going to hell in a handbasket, you and three friends can play through the entire campaign cooperatively - all in drop-in/drop-out fashion!

PlayStation 3 owners have travelled a long road to get here, but Sony finally has their trophy system extended off the PlayStation 3 and onto the web.  

It's always nice when a single player game series adds in co-op, a la Resident Evil 5.  The latest title to join this trend is Capcom's Lost Planet 2.  If killing bugs to harvest thermal goo from their back ends was fun in single player, imagine the possibilities with a buddy to watch your back!  Capcom VP Christian Svensson promises that the upcoming third person action game will crank it up to eleven.

PC gaming sales charts are typically conquered by two types of games.  The first is the Sims.  Anything with the Sims name typically sits on top of the charts.  Sim expansions that add pets, vacations, gardening, or whatever even make their way to the top.  Of course if Blizzard has a recent release that typically topples those little virtual people.  Whether that's Diablo or World of Warcraft, Blizzard games always sell REALLY well.
