It's no secret that we really like Mercenaries 2: World in Flames.  We've been playing the co-op mode, enjoying blowing things up like it's going out of style.  Dropping a bunker buster on a building (or a teammate) never gets old.  And despite the fact that there's still tons of game to play, the folks at Pandemic have put together a "stunts" video that shows off some other things you can attempt in the game.  A lot of the really cool stunts they show off require co-op play to complete (like above) - and I gotta say, I'm pretty pumped now after watching the video.

Sometimes, I love the internet, especially when it shows that real life is so much stranger than fiction.  You may recall all the hullabaloo over the art direction in Diablo 3, particularly the brighter colors and even (the horror!) rainbows.  It appears some fans like their Diablo dark and dingy, thank you very much.  We poked fun at this phenomenon here, and the art director of Diablo 3 responded to some fan altered photoshops here.  Now, the madness has been taken to the next logical level.

Want to know a quick and dirty way to unlock a song list worthy of a rock superstar?  The creators of Rock Band 2 have included a cheat that allows just that.  The MTV Multiplayer blog has the details on the exact method.

Resistance 2 is quite the popular game.  We've covered it for a while, and it is one of our most anticipated co-op titles coming out this year. So, we feel it is our duty to let the Resistance fans out there know about important news about Resistance 2, which is supposed to come out on November 2nd. Well, good news Resistance 2 fans: Resistance 2 is close to being finished. Gamespot has a rather good interview with Insomniac's Ted Price, which in addition to discussing the release date, actually has some good information regarding co-op.

News from a few sources this morning talk about crosshit problems with the new Rock Band 2 Wireless Drum Kit that causes a hit on one drum to also register on the drum by it or for a red/blue hit at the same time to not register correctly.  This of course ruins your score and multiplier amounts during the game.  Also, there is a decibel test link that puts the Rock Band 1 drums up against the Rock Band 2 ones.  A bunch of information after the break.

Quick.  Get out your little black book.  Time to find seven of your buddies to get together on Xbox Live for some 8 player co-op Duke Nukem action!  This MEGA Episode of GameTrailers TV broke the exclusive news that we'll be seeing the 3D Realms classic title on Xbox Live Arcade on September 24th.

If there's one thing you can take away from the new Left 4 Dead screens posted over at internet gaming forum NeoGaf, it's that Zombies have impeccable tooth care.  In the screens the gaping mouths of the undead attempt to eat our four protagonists with a perfect set of pearly whites.  There are over 20 new screen shots posted of Valve's co-op zombie shooter, many of areas we haven't seen before including a cornfield, a warehouse, and woods.

Capcom seems to be the king of co-op classic remakes with titles like 1942: Joint Strike and Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 both getting an overhaul for next gen systems.  And while the previously mentioned titles always had co-op, Capcom's latest forray didn't.  Bionic Commando: Rearmed takes the classic grappling game and...

It's a double shot this week of co-op goodness.

Yo yo yo!  Have I got a preview that is off the hizzy for you!  Our homeslices over at TotalVideoGames got some hands on time with the fly disc for the Xbox 3-6-0 called Saint's Row 2.  This game is off the charts yo.

Welcome to the initial post of a column we like to call Beyond Co-Op. This is a column where we talk about other news around the industry that isn’t necessarily tied to co-operative gaming. Each week will see the subjects of the column listed on the front page with more in-depth discussion after the break.  Lets face it, we are all gamers that simply love games, co-op or not.  There's plenty of stuff going on around the industry that we can cover; so why not do it?

Oh, happy day.  You know you've always secretly been jealous of the elite, the upper crust, the aristocracy.  For today, for just a little while, you can live the dream, and pretend that you are a member of that most secretive and elite group: the GameStop manager.  With this boost in status comes benefits and privileges beyond compare, namely, access to an exclusive Gears of War 2 video presented at a GameStop manager's meeting.  Trust us, many Bothans died to bring us this information.  You can check out the exclusive footage here, or find it after the jump.
