The Capcom team certainly has been busy this past year with regular content updates and events for Monster Hunter: World, and that will be continuing into the new year. Among the planned free content updates are a crossover event with everyone's favorite hunter of monsters, Geralt of Rivia, a festival to celebrate the past year, and some other secrets for the 15th anniversary.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the kitchen, Ghost Town Games and Team17 dropped a free update for Overcooked! 2 last week that adds some new levels, a few new recipes, and a couple new chefs to use. "Kevin's Christmas Cracker" is available for all versions of the game and, as this is an update, it'll get added automatically.
Star Wars Battlefront II has had its share of ups and downs since it launched last year, but the steady stream of patches/updates have brought the game to a better point than where it was. The sequel to the horde-based smash, dash, bash, cast, blast, and clear a path game, Warhammer: Vermintide, arrives on the PlayStation 4 today. While the game has been out on PC and Xbox One for some time now, today’s release marks the final console to receive the game with no Switch version being mentioned thus far.
The newest DLC, "Back to Ubersreik," for Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is available now, giving players the chance to go back to remastered Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide levels and relive their favorite memories from their old (horde) stomping grounds. However, the developers over at Fatshark have subtly hinted that everything is not as it may appear at first glance, saying that, “The three maps have been remastered and there is also a secret surprise waiting for our heroes.” As the DLC is out now, what are you waiting for?!
If you've been wondering whatever happened to the funky alien duo that is ToeJam and Earl, fear not. After years of dormancy, a successful Kickstarter, and a slight delay, ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove will finally see the light of day on March 1, 2019.
The co-op monster killer game Dauntless will officially be heading to consoles in 2019. The caveat to this is that the Nintendo Switch version is set for ‘later 2019’ while the Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions are going to be ‘April 2019’, without an exact date yet. The good news, though, is that regardless of the platform you choose, this news brings the game closer to Phoenix Labs’ vision of “One Dauntless” where full cross-platform play and progression will be supported.
In a blog post earlier this week, Eric Barone (aka ConcernedApe) spread the good word that the co-op update for the Nintendo Switch version of Stardew Valley would be available to download on Wednesday, the 12th (i.e., yesterday). Well yesterday arrived and with it, the co-op patch. Now you and up to three friends can all work a farm together, romance the local populous, and explore some caverns.

While there were a number of exciting moments during this year's Game Awards, perhaps one of the more memorable ones for us was the reveal of a new Ultimate Alliance game, aka MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order. It should come as no surprise that plot of this game - following on the heels of "Avengers: Infinity War" - revolves around Thanos and his collection of cult-like followers, the titular Black Order.
