Some indie studios rise and fall as the tides of gaming shift. For 10tons Ltd., they've managed to stick around for over 13 years by going with the waves and shifting development to the platforms that are in demand. Their latest title, Neon Chrome, is a return to their twin-stick shooter roots and Sampo Töyssy, Vice CEO of 10tons...
I don't know if you have heard *spoilers*, but Spider Man is now officially part of the wider Marvel's Avengers universe. That's great news for comic book and cinema lovers, but it is also good for owners of LEGO Marvel's Avengers, as they get free piece of DLC that contains 6 different versions of the Webbed Wonder.
If Battleborn was a CQB game, our performance last night on Mission 7 could only be described as surgical. We absolutely sliced, shot, healed and exploded our way through the mission. If you want a fine display of cooperative play, this is where it's at.
Late May is chalked full of upcoming co-op releases, and we've found the deals to go with them. If you're either a Warhammer or a Total War fan, you have to be looking forward to next week Tuesday's Total War: Warhammer. There are a variety of TW: Warhammer deals this week ranging from 20% off to 25% off. All of them will include the pre-order bonus of the Chaos Warrior Race Pack.
As the ASCII inspired, roguelike dungeon crawler Brut@l approaches its PlayStation 4 release date, developer Stormcloud Games is revealing some new information about how co-op works. Specifically, does the loot drop for each player individually, or is it communal? Can a downed buddy be revived? And perhaps the most important question of all, can I throw a potion at my friend's head to heal him or her?
There was a brief time when I was young when my uncle let my family borrow his Atari. He didn't have a lot of games for it, but I definitely remember spending time playing Tank with my brother and sister. Spanish developer Mighty Toast must have dedicated some of their time playing that game as well as their first title, Tankr, seems to be inspired by it.
Klonk Games' charming, cooperative puzzle-platformer, Shift Happens, has been in Steam Early Access since September of last year. Not only will the title get a final release in July, it will also be arriving on the Xbox One.
The next entry in the Civ franchise will be arriving this fall. Civilization VI was announced recently and it seems that the latest in this long-running series will offer some new twists on the well-known formula.
Salt and Sanctuary, a game heavily inspired by the exploration, combat, and hellish despair of the Souls series, first made its way to the PlayStation 4 just over two months ago. Its developer, Ska Studios, was largely unfamiliar Sony's line of consoles, what with the majority of their titles hailing from the Xbox Live Indie and Arcade marketplaces, but their debut on the system made quite the splash.
What could possibly be better than playing a nice, lengthy session of a classic 4X strategy game? Easy - playing two at the same time! Our very own Nick Puleo will attempt this very weekend to conquer two entirely separate universes and, in doing so, create the mythical 16X. Anyone can handle the four standard X's: eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate, but how will Nick cope with these added dimensions, like eXtreme handstands, The EXorcist 2, eXtra cheese, and eXploding finger guns? Only time will tell.
In anticipation of its big release next month, TT Games and Warner Bros are releasing "character vignette" videos for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens. These brief clips focus on just one of the title's big characters and give just a hint of the original dialogue that's been recorded by all of the actors.
We've seen teasers of the first DLC character, Alani, for Battleborn, and it looks like we won't have to wait too much longer to get a chance to play her. If you picked up the Season Pass or bought the Digital Deluxe version of the game (which included the Season Pass), you'll be able to play Alani early starting next Tuesday, May 24. For everyone else, she'll be available on May 31.
