It's time once again for our Co-Op Game of the Year Awards. We look back at 2014 as a fairly mediocre year in terms of co-op game. While we had high hopes for many games, there were no true must have stand-outs. That's not to say there weren't some great games, it's just compared to previous years this one seems slightly more forget...
Tripwire Studios wants to prove they've been hard at work on Killing Floor 2 with some fresh screens for zombie haters. Given the amount of gore, however, I can't tell if they've been slaving away over a hot CPU or a still steaming meat grinder.
As is the norm for the LEGO video game series, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham doesn't suffer from a lack of options when it comes to playable characters. Avid DC fans can grab extra character packs to finally live their childhood dream of beating up Brainiac's minions as Captain Boomerang.
The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V had some new info released via the Rockstar Newswire blog. Unfortunately, we have a delay regarding the official release of the PC version.
With "The Dark Below" expansion still fairly fresh, Bungie has taken some steps to ensure future players don't shatter Destiny's gear economy with exploits. A patch arrived today to end some of the more insidious behavior taking place in the new raid, Crota's End. You may have seen a video or two floating around on the web of someone soloing the raid with no issues whatsoever. Apparently, being casually slain by a half-bored Guardian, while cramming Doritos in their mouth, is not the way Bungie envisioned the demise of a dark god.
Ah, the CRPG. Shall I compare thee to a well-worn keyboard? My darling, some love you and your faux-Medieval settings and find the freedom you offer liberating to their real-world sensibilities. Others find you trite, overwhelming, and tire of your "Oh look, another mad wizard" cliches. Nevertheless, you persevere. Through the gaming industry crash, through the rise of the JRPG, you soldier on, offering D&D styled combat to those who crave its tender grasp.
For Far Cry 4 fans, today is a little like a mini post-Christmas with the release of the new Escape from Durgesh Prison DLC. It can be played solo or in co-op, but as our Co-Optimus sneak peek suggested, this content is slightly different from the norm.
As many of us already know, the Evolve Open Beta will begin on Thursday, January 15th on Xbox One. For the folks who own the console, we have some good news regarding some gameplay that you'll be able to experience during this test period.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is kind of like the anti-hero an old Western movie. Tales of his legendary exploits precede him, and sure, his first encounter with the townfolk was rocky, but he's looking to make good. He's got a heart of gold, and anyone who knows him personally will tell you he'll come around in the end, but who knows how long that'll take him.
Kicking off 2015, January is fairly calm on the MMO side of things. The new year brings lots of updates for some established MMOs, such as Dungeons & Dragons Online (DDO), EVE Online, and DC Universe Online (DCUO)....
A couple of co-op deals have appeared on the recent Humble Weekly Bundle, just enough to make it worth our nod of approval. Out of the 14 games in the bundle, three offer up a tasty co-op mode. Strangely enough, they're all retro-style arcade shooters, too.
We're two weekends into this exciting new year, eagerly anticipating the next new/big co-op titles to arrive. Unfortunately, we've got at least a couple more weeks until that happens so we'll be filling our time with last year's offerings while we wait. Don't forget to vote for your 2014 GOTY AAA and Indie games!
