This week in co-op I play the Soul Sacrifice demo with random players. Here we go.

I was talking to Nick the other day and I let it slip that I had put around 25 hours into the Soul Sacrifice demo. And I don’t mean the Japanese version that came out months ago. Somehow, between playing and writing about all the games I’m supposed to be playing and writing about - and doing my part in the benevolent dictatorship my wife and I hold over a household full of pugs and children- I managed to play the Soul Sacrifice demo for an entire day (not in one sitting). It’s been out for less than a week. Embarassing, I know.
The new Star Trek game hit store shelves yesterday. Kirk and Spock, along with the rest of the crew of the Enterprise, will find themselves at odds with the Gorn, a race of rather awesome-looking humanoid lizards. This new trailer is full of action and sweet sound effects from the rebooted franchise. It features all the assorted pings and pews of a Star Trek space battle.
Sanctum 2 continues to casually stroll to its release date this summer. To keep us psyched, developer Coffee Stain Studios has released a new batch of screenshots showcasing the game's gorgeous art style along with some exotic locations and a few in-game action shots. It's a bright and shiny futuristic sci-fi world, all splattered with alien bug guts.
It's beginning to look a lot like the opposite of Christmas, what with the warm weather and sunshine and all. Terraria doesn't really care what the weather's like, though, and it's going to add a little winter cheer whenever it darn well pleases. Artist Jimmarn recently revealed screenshots showing a snow biome along with underground ice caverns that will be part of the next update. When that update hits is anyone's guess (June?), but it's going to be a massive one.
I know what you're saying, "didn't you just post your review of the game, which I totally didn't skip to the end of, and now I'm all excited to play it on my Xbox?" I'm sorry to say it's sad, but true. The XBLA version of Monaco: What's Yours is Mine is getting a delayed release. News of this came just yesterday afternoon from the official Monaco Facebook page. Not many details are provided as to the cause of the delay - the post merely states "there is an issue which requires that we push our Xbox Live arcade game release date a little" - or how long that delay will be.
An indie game rarely is in development for four years; a variety of concerns (primarily money) would make it difficult for an independent developer to tweak and refine a game for that long. Yet Pocketwatch Games' award-winning and much anticipated co-op title, Monaco: What's Yours is Mine, managed to make it through its long development cycle and finally gets sprung today on PC. Some games spend years in development and fall flat. Monaco, though, is well poised to steal your gaming time.
Two imposing things; royalty and dragons. Now imagine how imposing the King of the Dragons would be? Soon you will no longer have to imagine, as all the blue blooded mythical reptiles you can waggle a sword at are coming your way on August 6th, in the form of Dragon's Crown.
We’re only a handful of days into The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing’s closed beta testing. Indie developer, Neocore Games, wishes everyone to take a quick look at their game’s progress and consider preordering it today. Those that choose to will be given instant access to the closed beta and be able to wield Van Helsing’s arcane powers firsthand.
The console development of Tragnarion Studios' The Scourge Project, dubbed Scourge: Outbreak, has been underway for a little over the past year. This is more than just a straight port of the PC version, though. As we previously covered, Tragnarion is taking the time to make a game that is designed for the consoles, including new gameplay mechanics, a new enemy A.I., improved graphics, and more. The members of Echo Squad from the PC version are still around and the developers are taking the time to introduce us to them. First up is Shade, an Argentinian assassin with a personal vendetta against the Nogari Corporation (aka "Evil Corp 3000").
Gamers who pre-order the gonzo open-world extravaganza that is Saints Row 4 will receive a few patriotic bonuses. The Commander in Chief pack will include an Uncle Sam Suit, a Screaming Eagle Jet, and the 'Merica weapon - Funny, I always thought it was 'Murica. I blame the 'Merican public school system. The super powered 'Merica gun and the Screaming Eagle jet seem about right, but I was expecting some assless chaps for the Uncle Sam Suit. Pretty, tame, Volition. Anyway, take a look at the goodies below. You can salute if you want to.
As release hour approaches for the brand new Star Trek video game, another trailer has appeared to shed some light on its creation. We already know the Gorn are back and are pretty angry (could you imagine a happy Gorn?), but a few new details about one of the main characters, Tamar, are teased, along with her history with Spock. Events in the game take place after the 2009 film but before Star Trek Into Darkness, so there's a bit of wiggle room when it comes to crazy things happening.
