It was nice to have a bit of breathing room at the start of July after the absolute crazyness that was June. The calm didn't last long however as in the second half of the month the release calender suddenly started to get full again culminating in three days at the end full of long awaited releases like Blightbound, Samurai Warriors 5, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin or The Ascent. It seemed like the industry went on a two-week-vacation and then decided they needed to complete the missed work in a single day.

After wowing viewers of the Microsoft and Bethesda Games Showcase during E3 this year, The Ascent Curve Digital and Swedish developer Neon Giant has finally arrived on Xbox, Windows 10, and Steam. The Ascent is a visually amazing cyberpunk action RPG that supports 4-player local and online co-op. The game is also available via Xbox Game Pass, making it easy to find online co-op players.

One of the best ways to keep a game alive in people's hearts and minds is to release it on modern platforms. One such game, BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition from Frogmind and publisher Qubic Games, is already playable on pretty much every platform out there... except one. That changes on August 6 when BADLAND finally touches down on Nintendo Switch. At last, everyone will get to experience 4-player local co-op in a colorful land gone bad.

After publishing the feline co-op action RPG Cat Quest II, it's only natural that PQUBE would want to bring more action RPGs starring heroic kitties to the world. Perhaps that's the story of how PQUBE picked up Kitaria Fables from Indonesian developer Twin Hearts. Kitaria Fables takes place in a fantasy world populated by adorable animals, a world that console and PC players will get to experience at the beginning of September.

What happens when you yake one part board game, one part adventure game, and throw in some comedic horror? You get the complexly named Fhtagn! - Tales of the Creeping Madness from Design Imps and Silesia Games. Not only does Fhtagn! feature the unusual premise of players attempting to summon a world-ending horror, it also allows for ...

DARIUSBURST Chronicle Saviours is a shoot 'em up that really wowed genre fans back in 2016, especially the phenomenal Steam version. Five years later, Taito and publishers United Games and ININ have just unleashed an upgraded version of the game: DARIUSBURST: Another Chronicle EX . This version adds new content and fully supports 4-player local co-op in all modes.

Natsume, best known for its Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons series, has also started publishing indie games over the last couple of years. The latest such game is ConecTank from mysterious developer YummyYummyTummy. While the title brings to mind a combat-focused game, ConecTank is actually a co-op puzzle game about giant tank battles. It's coming to consoles and PC at the end of September, and we're excited about it.

Square-Enix's flagship MMO, Final Fantasy XIV, has been through its share of ups and downs over the past 11 years, including an entire reboot three years after its release. We've touched upon the title here and there throughout that time between Tally's MMO Co-Opportunities articles and the occasional stream of it, but this week we're giving it a little bit more of its due as Jason and Mike sit down for a nice relaxing chat about this particular behemoth.

The Addams Family, a pretty good 2019 animated film, is due for a sequel this October. The 1990s live-action movies enjoyed some odd video game adaptations, so why shouldn't the new movies as well? That's where The Addams Family: Mansion Mayhem from PHL Collective and Outright Games comes in. Heading to consoles and Steam on September 24, Mansion Mayhem will be the first Addams Family game to feature local co-op.

The goal when playing video games is nearly always to have a blast. That goal is usually implied, but there's nothing wrong with making it explicit. That's exactly what Have a Blast, an upcoming arena-based party shooter, dares to do. It promises at least one blast to both Switch and Steam players when it launches on August 26.

It has been three years since Dynasty Warriors 9 and Warriors Orochi 4 graced consoles and a whopping seven years since Samurai Warriors 4. In that time, we've seen numerous licensed "Warriors" titles, but the wait for a mainline release has stretched on. That wait has finally ended now that Samurai Warriors 5 has ...

Silly physics-based games like Fight Crab and I Am Bread can be a lot of fun. Watching people flail around in said games is sometimes even better than actually playing. We wonder whether that will be the case for the upcoming Steam release Simple Fish Adventure from LostVolBytes. The whole game is about flopping around on land as a fish, and it even features cooperative flopping!
