The 6th season of content for Destiny 2 kicked off a couple weeks ago. Dubbed the "Season of the Drifter," Annual Pass owners get new content via "Joker's Wild." This includes two new modes to play (Gambit Prime and Reckoning), a new bounty along with some lore via the "Invitations of the Nine," a new exotic (everyone's favorite/hated hand cannon, Thorn), and a new questline tied to swearing your loyalty to the Vanguard or the Drifter. As most of that content has now been made available, we decided to hop back in and check out how all of it stacks up.

In the early 90’s ToeJam & Earl became a cult classic and thrust the two characters into a weird position of second rate mascots behind Sonic. My experience with the series began with the sequel, Panic on Funkotron, for the Sega Genesis, and then shortly after I grabbed a copy of the original ToeJam & Earl, only to find they were quit...

Ready Or Not, the upcoming breach-em-up from VOID Interactive, finally has a release window:  Q4 of 2020.  Now, based on my understanding of time, that's about 200 years from now, but at least the devs have been kind enough to drop a substantial gameplay trailer in the meantime.

Despite a shaky start with technical issues aplenty, Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been hanging on on the Xbox One for over 4 years now and got a pretty big update this past summer. Last week, Microsoft and 343 Industries announced that they'll be bringing this bundle of games chronicling the adventures of Master Chief Petty Office John-117 to the PC via Windows 10 Store and... Steam!

If none of the new releases are tickling your fancy these days, perhaps a dip into the past is in order. PopCap's Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is available to all Xbox Live Gold members (i.e., it is "free" with an active subscription, which isn't free) until April 15.

Nick's away on a cruise this weekend, and the Co-Opticrew's all beat up about it.  Without someone to bust our chops and get us in line, we're aimless!  Eric's talking gibberish to a soda machine, Locke's making a mural out of old mechanical keyboards, and Jason... well, let's just say that police horse had it coming.

Optical switches are the new craze in the PC peripheral world, and due to their laser precision and lightning fast speed, the technology is marketed heavily to the gaming community. But does it stand up to the hype? I tried out a mouse and keyboard combo from Bloody to see if I could get to the bottom of that question....

For this week's "Let's Play Co-Op", Mike and Locke are checking out ToeJam and Earl: Back In The Groove, a Kickstarted title that seeks to bring back a franchise that many Genesis fans remember fondly. Like so many of these types of projects, the aim is to make something that successfully hits that nostalgia center of the brain and presents something that is as good as you remember it being (which isn't always the same as the reality of how it was).

One of my all-time favorite twin-stick shooter, Assault Android Cactus, is now available on the Nintendo Switch with some improvements and a couple new features as Assault Android Cactus Plus. This re-release dropped last Friday and still supports four player couch co-op in every single mode, and also moves the "twin-stick" shooter genre into a new direction: single-stick.

In this issue of MMOCO, we have a big ol’ mix of things. We take a look at an unusually-themed crossover event for TERA, the closure of NA and EU servers for Kritika Online, and a new type of server being introduced for Anarchy Online....

The Co-Opticrew is all here!  Unless you count over half the staff, in which case almost no one is here.  Nevertheless, we determined few are tasked with holding down the weekend gaming fort, and by gosh, we're going to do so.

Co-op games are a sometimes complicated, exciting business where all of the members have to pull together to accomplish a goal. There are a number of games that require a fine synergy of skill, will, sweat, and tears for a party of co-op partners to achieve victory no matter how many players are involved. Iron Crypticle keeps all of that and nothin...
