The LEGO games always bring a whole bunch of playable characters to the party, and LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham already boasts a staggeringly large roster. The cast seems to have reached critical mass, and begun conscripting folks from the real world into this lighthearted romp through DC's expansive universe.
Ever thought your shmup screen just wasn't wide enough? Super Chain Crusher Horizon is here to save the day. Created by a little studio called Mindware, the game is played in a 3200x800 window and allows you to create big blasts that are over 2000 pixels wide. We're not sure if that's some sort of explosion record, but it should be!
Frozenbyte wants you to make new levels for Trine and Trine 2! The studio recently released a polished-up version of the same editing software they use for making stages. It's in beta right now, but if you own Trine 2 or Trine Enchanted Edition, you can download it with just a couple of clicks.
We've got two releases this week on opposing ends of the timeline. While one game was technically available yesterday, the other is out on Friday via Steam. So what's on tap?
Destiny is still on everyone's playlist, though it's a bit more casual now with daily strikes. We're also seeing the recent Shadows of Mordor showing up on our playlists, as the recent single player action game has been getting great reviews.
Dynasty Warriors games have been generally successful for many years and through multiple console generations. Spinoff series, using the same basic gameplay elements, have had similar modest success, including Dynasty Warriors Gundam and Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage. Now, the beloved Legend of Zelda franchise has received a Dynasty Warr...
Deathtrap, the ARPG/TD mash-up from the creators of the Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, has released the second video in its Monster Training Academy series. While the first video showed off trash compactor-esque traps, this video showcases lightning traps, a staple in any tower defense game.
When we received some PR that F.E.A.R. was getting the online and free to play treatment, we were somewhat baffled. It didn't seem like a franchise that could fit that model of play, but sure enough, the game is coming from publisher Aeria Games. F.E.A.R. Online will feature a full co-op campaign as well as PvE and PvP modes of play. F.E.A.R. 3 was a damn fine co-op experience, so we're definitely excited.
While digital releases are usually the more convenient option these days, there's something about holding a retail disc that makes a gaming purchase that much sweeter, Minecraft being no different. The retail version of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition has now been confirmed by Microsoft, which will arrive slightly before the holiday shopping season begins.
Indie developer Secret Base, best known for the Tobe series of co-op puzzle platformers, have decided to take on the world of beat 'em ups in Devil's Dare. Of course, this is no ordinary beat 'em up, oh no. You'll be taking on legions of zombies as well as a few iconic figures from horror movies.
You know it's a trailer for a Far Cry game when there's a sinister, accented man casually taunting you in first person. In this latest Far Cry 4 trailer, we join antagonist Pagan Min and his bleached hair for dinner, cut with rampant open world gameplay you and a friend can expect this November. Just hope you never find your actual self in this situation, or else the rest of your exceptionally short life is going to be spent in abject terror.
Insomniac Games have put out a fresh batch of screenshots for Sunset Overdrive, their over the top open world shooter/skating/grinding/explodey game that's out on the Xbox One later this month. The screens showcase the detail on the characters, the colorful environments and what appears to be some sort of vehicle. Whether it'll be driveable (or flyable) has yet to be seen.
