The Call of Duty universe seems like a terrible place to live. Not only is every moment in modern human history punctuated by war, but every single terrorist cell seems to have access to a nuclear arsenal capable of leveling any city on earth. Then, perhaps due to the massive amount of nuclear fallout, there were zombies. And now that we've banded together to kill all of the terrible zombies, aliens with a taste for human flesh have invaded. Those folks just can't catch a break.

Skyrim is a game that lets you run around and shoot things in the knees with arrows. Minecraft is a game where you set blocks all over the place and curse at the walking cactus creepers when they blow everything up. Put them together and you've got a crazy (but cool) mash-up that will soon dominate your Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition experience.

There's an old saying that goes something like this: blood is more expensive than turnip water, and it's red, too. That's kind of the theme of the new DLC for Total War: Rome II: pay some money, see some blood. If only we had DLC back when Mortal Kombat first hit consoles!

Games with Gold on Xbox 360 looks like it is here to stay and although the games offered have not been that new, they have leaned heavily towards the co-op.  This trend is set to continue in November as A World of Keflings is free until the 15th and then look out for Iron Brigade from the 16th.

Those who couldn't get in on the Dark Souls II beta have another chance to watch their characters be reduced to bloodstains. A limited beta was schedule for North and South America last month, only to be squashed under the heel of some enormous, ancient evil, probably. I imagine those things just run amok down at FromSoftware, accounting for the sadism lacing their games. 

It's time once again for a Call of Duty game, this year's title is being developed again by Infinity Ward. Running on a brand new engine and designed for next-generation it could be the first time in quite some time we see some serious forward movement in the series in a few years.

The Season Pass is a concept that is here to stay this upcoming generation.  What better way to prevent people trading in, than by locking them into content releases over the month's following the game's release?  The latest game to jump on the Season Pass chariot is Ryse: Son of Rome.

The Extra Life marathon started about an hour ago on the east coast, and those of us in the central timezone are about to start. There's still time to donate! A new Wii U bundle has been announced for the 2013 holiday season, featuring a Wii U Basic system and a Skylanders SWAP Force starter pack, which includes Portal of Power, three figures, trading cards, stickers, and Nintendo Land on disc. A bit of a grab bag of goodies, but we're not complaining!
