The beta test for the PS3 versions of Dark Souls II was planned to take place last Sunday, October 27th. Unfortunately, players from North and South America were unable to log into the servers for that test. Happily, Namco Bandai has rescheduled the beta test for November 9th and 10th.

Serious Sam Double D XXL is a fun, over the top, side scrolling shooter from Mommy's Best Games set in the Serious Sam Universe. It was released on PC and then received an Xbox Live Arcade port. There was one key difference between the two - the XBLA version featured local co-op play, which the PC version lacked. A new free update changes things adding a new content to the PC version.

Believe it or not, there was a time when videogames didn't make you wait for the menu to load, when they didn't make you sit through four screens of publishers, engine developers, and physics technologies. There was a time when you simply inserted a quarter and pressed start and began playing. Somewhere along the way we lost that but perhaps, there's a slight chance, we'll be getting back to just playing a game.
