There once was a movie called Space Jam: A New Legacy that combined numerous Warner Bros. characters and properties. It's a very bad movie that should be avoided at all costs! However, the idea of mixing WB properties together clearly has some appeal, hence the new Smash Bros.-style fighting game, MultiVersus. Players who buy any premium edition of MultiVersus can play it right now, but the game will officially launch in free to play form on July 26.

Yar's Revenge is a Atari 2600 shoot 'em up that released in 1982 and is still fondly remembered by gamers of the era. During the Xbox 360 days, Atari released a 3D rail shooter which added co-op but reimagined the insect protagonists as human-like characters. 40 years after the first Yar's Revenge (!!!), the series is due for a comeback with Yars Recharged on modern consoles and PC. This one hews closely to the original, with playable space flies, 2D shooting, and the welcome addition of local co-op.

Japanese publisher Hamster is slowly but surely releasing a vast library of classic arcade games on modern consoles via the Arcade Archives label. The latest Arcade Archives release is Dragon Saber: After Story of Dragon Spirit. A vertically scrolling shoot 'em up that rarely gets ported to consoles, Dragon Saber lets two players become flying dragons to save a fantasy kingdom from monsters.

Final Vendetta from Bitmap Bureau is a game that keeps on giving. The retro-style beat 'em up impressed us at launch with its gorgeous Neo Geo-style graphics, catchy soundtrack, and fun gameplay. However, the difficulty was quite frustrating, which reflected in our co-op review score. When we interviewed developer Mike Tucker, he promised that balancing updates would be coming. The console versions of the game have finally been updated, and we've got the details and screenshots to prove it.

Pocky & Rocky Reshrined is a beautiful top-down shooter from Natsume and ININ Games. The latest in a long-running series that started with Kiki Kaikai, Reshrined offers five playable characters, a fresh story mode, and 2-player local co-op. Players can't just jump into the cooperative Free Mode, however. It normally has to be unlocked by completing Story Mode solo, which could take hours. Thankfully, we've got a code to unlock co-op right away!

Now that Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium is here, it’s time for us to finally review the first game. Capcom Arcade Stadium is a collection of 32 classic arcade games that were originally released from 1984-2001. The various titles can be purchased as a full collection or piecemeal, with the base software and 1943, a co-op shoot ‘em up, availa...

It's not often that a game receives online multiplayer years after release, but it does happen. Case in point: Double Dragon IV from Arc System Works. The retro-style beat 'em up came to all major platforms, one system at a time, but initially without an online mode. A few years later, though, the game was updated to add 2-player online co-op! That's quite an addition for a small-scale $7 game, so we had to try it out and share our impressions.

When Sega announced the Mega Drive Mini 2 for the Japanese market at the beginning of June, we wondered when an announcement for the American market would be coming. That finally happened, as the Sega Genesis Mini 2 is now official and already available for preorder! The Genesis Mini 2 and Mega Drive Mini 2 will each have shared and unique games, including co-op classics like Rolling Thunder 2 (US) and Final Fight CD (Japan).

This week, everybody who's anybody is playing Spidersaurs, a run-and-gun shooter from WayForward. Preorders have just opened up on Xbox for a similar game, though: Knights & Guns from Polish developer Baltoro Games (makers of Urban Flow). Knights & Guns is a single-screen shooter/platformer in the style of Pang Adventures. Already available on Switch and iiRcade, it's due out on Xbox in September, complete with 2-player local co-op.

We've been so excited for WayForward's new run-and-gun shooter, Spidersaurs, that we interviewed the developer ahead of release day. Spidersaurs lets players arm up and blast away at a variety of freaky dino-spider hybrids. It's a deliberately cartoon-like concept that allows for colorful characters and levels, not to mention widely varied and unique monster baddies. Spidersaurs has finally launched on all major platforms, complete with 2-player local co-op.

Moo Lander is a charming and silly Metroidvania game from The Sixth Hammer that recently arrived on consoles and Steam. Trapped on an alien planet, a lone astronaut must pilot his ship across hostile terrain while scavenging for resources and dealing with bizarre alien cows. In addition to the solo campaign, Moo Lander also features co-op minigames for up to 4 players. The Steam version of the game is on sale right now, making it a perfect time to suit up and blast some cows.

Back in 2018, Koei Tecmo and Omega Force released Warriors Orochi 4 on consoles and PC, and it was good. Warriors Orochi 3, however, never got a PC version - until now. 10 years after the first console versions, Steam now has Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate Definitive Edition. This new edition bundles the hack-and-slash epic with nearly all of its DLC to make a truly grand and definitive adventure - complete with split-screen co-op.
