Capcom has been on a roll with great PC ports for their console games. Resident Evil 6 is no exception to that rule. Like Devil May Cry before it, Resident Evil 6 for the PC is the definitive version of the game. That is, until an “Ultimate Edition” of the game is announced (this is Capcom, after all). Reside...
This week on the co-op front we have some handhelds I should have mentioned last week, sorry. We also have some masked mercs and a dose of indie randomness.
Terraria is one of those games that hit the sweet spot for many co-op lovers. It was released for the PC back in 2011, and blended the best parts of Minecraft and Zelda to create a unique 2-D experience. There were a myriad of tools to discover and treasures to keep, bosses to fight, and a very strong community to support it all. The developers were very passionate about the project, and continue to deliver exciting content to this day. Most of us have dreamed of a console port, and this week our prayers are being answered.
Gears of War: Judgement follows Baird and Cole in the early days of the Locust War. The co-op options are as plentiful as ever. The gameplay is the same as Gears of War 3, but there's something missing here.
Gears of War: Judgment features all the co-op options from Gears of War 3. Same menus, same options, same player counts. If you could do it in Gears 3, you can do it in Gears: Judgment -as long as you don't want to play Horde mode.
As revealed earlier this year, Harmonix has scheduled the final Rock Band DLC pack to be released on April 2nd, ending over 275 weeks of continuous content updates. That leaves players with a paltry 4,000 songs to jam out with until the end of time. Wait, that's quite a lot of music, isn't it? Doesn't matter, still sad.
Well that was quick. Just a few weeks ago, Coffee Stain Studios released a tiny little teaser getting us ready for the tower defense/first person shooter hybrid Sanctum 2. Now, real and actual gameplay footage has been released! The trailer has about, oh, 60 seconds of in-game stuff going on, with plenty of dramatic shots showing you just how screwed you'll be if you stop placing defense towers or running around shooting swamp creatures with your customizable guns.
There be much talk of a new generation coming, of super consoles that will track the thoughts of your brain and plug you directly into the Matrix, but before that, we have 2013 to contend with. One current generation game that hopes to take your fancy is Fuse, a 4 player co-op shooter that now has the official release date of May 28th 2013.
Today Gearbox took the wraps off the previously hinted at piece of content for Borderlands 2. The DLC is called The Psycho Pack and will costs $9.99. It features a brand new vault hunter named Krieg for players to take control of. In addition to the new character Gearbox announced the level cap would be increased to 61 in early April as part of the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack.
Capcom's announcement of Ducktales Remastered during PAX East has had the internet ablaze this weekend, but the other game they announced was more exciting from a co-op perspective. We already reported that Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara would be coming to XBLA and PSN last week, and now it's official. Plus it will arrive on the Wii U and PC, making it easy for everybody who's anybody to experience Capcom's finest beat-em-ups.
It's the weekend! A time to relax, play games, and catch up on all that non-cooperative gaming news of the past week in Co-Optimus' Beyond Co-Op feature. This time around we've got a very exciting announcement for NES platformer fans, the Final Fantasy X remake gets an added bonus on the PS3, and Supergiant Games is back in action with their newest title, Transistor. All in all, some very exciting news this week with perhaps even more to be revealed as PAX East 2013 is just getting underway.
A week or so back we had a huge contest giving out hundreds of Beta codes for Defiance, which launches in just two short weeks on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. This weekend is the beta on all three platforms and the staff and community will be diving in to see what the fuss is all about.
