The twin-stick shooter genre is rife with opportunities for co-op goodness, and that embarrassment of cooperative riches just expanded with the Early Access release of HyperParasite.

In a surprise announcement yesterday, QC Games announced that their studio will be shutting down, as will their action-RPG Breach. It's not clear just yet what the plan is for sunsetting this title, but the servers are still up and running if you wanted to get one last game in before it goes, though there's a certain caveat to that (see below).

In a surprise reveal last Thursday at PAX East, Hopoo Games and Gearbox announced that Risk of Rain 2 was now available to play via Steam Early Access. As the original game was a particular favorite for our staff, we couldn't wait to hop in and check out the sequel!

Borderlands 3 was finally revealed last Thursday at PAX East, and today, Gearbox announced that we wouldn't have to wait much longer to get our hands on it. The title will be arriving on September 13, 2019 for PC (exclusively via the Epic Store for 6 months), Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Ah, 2012, when the world was bright and the future was limitless.  What better way is there to exemplify this year's purity than to remember the release of Torchlight 2, a phenomenal action-looter-RPG?  Truly, those were blessed days.

At last year's E3, Bethesda and MachineGames revealed Wolfenstein: Youngblood, the next entry in the modern Wolfenstein franchise. The rebooted series has been very well received and folks were eagerly awaiting the next game, but this one was a bit surprising. Rather than focusing on BJ Blazkowicz fighting his way through Nazis in the 1960s in an alternate history, Youngblood takes place in the 1980s and focuses on his twin daughters: Jess and Soph. What's more, the game features two player co-op instead of being single-player only.

Rebellion is bringing Karl Fairburne back to Germany this year. The UK developer recently announced Sniper Elite V2 Remastered for the modern consoles (i.e., Switch, PS4, and Xbox One) and PC. This enhanced version of 2012's hit sniper shooter will feature polished up visuals, all DLC that was released for the game, some new playable characters, and the improved X-Ray kill cam from the most recent entries in the series.

Hello Games' No Man's Sky is heading into its third year of existence, and the developer has plenty more in store for their exploration/survival adventure title. Well, gang, I've fallen ill, which is why Friday had a distinct lack of Weekend in Gaming goodness.  I'm feeling mildly better now, though, so I've gathered the Co-Opticrew's weekend plans for you to see as they're probably happening.

Alright, alright, enough teasing. The last thing Gearbox had to show off (once the technical glitches were resolved) was the game a lot of folks have been waiting for: Borderlands 3. We all knew it was coming, it's just nice to see it finally get revealed.

Gearbox wasn't on-stage at PAX East just talking about the new Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition during their panel this afternoon. Oh no; they had a few surprises up their sleeves. One of the nicer ones was them revealing that they've partnered up with Hopoo Games to get Risk of Rain 2 out into the world... like, right now.
