In case you missed it, a new Gears game is coming out next week. Gears of War: Judgement totally snuck up on me. I guess that's what happens when you age out of the target demo. I don't watch the right shows to see the ads and the Xbox 360 dashboard has become nothing but white noise to me. It's actually rather pleasant.
Remember that DLC for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World that was supposed to introduce a new character and the ability to play online co-op? The one that saw numerous delays for a host of reasons? Well wait no longer, because the long awaited DLC will be released today for the PSN and tomorrow for XBLA.
We're heading straight towards the release of Defiance, a unique blend of MMO and shooter set to hit the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The game also blends mediums - with a TV show launching on SyFy set in the same universe - we're told to expect events to branch both the game world and TV world.
There's a playable demo out today for Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The 1.64GB demo gives you a chance to check out the game's two player online or couch co-op action as you drop into the shoes of the two new protagonists - Alpha and Bravo.
Hard to believe it, but we're almost to the middle of March. That means that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is fast approaching - it launches in a week! Are you all set to gather your friends and hunt monsters for glory and loot? If not, Capcom has you covered with not one, but two videos to get you pumped up.
There was a day when you could tell someone that one of your favorite games had to do with virtual city planning and they'd look at you with a cocked head. Today though the SimCity franchise has a rabid fanbase and the Sim franchise overall has expanded into two dozen games and equally as many expansion packs. EA has revived SimCity giving it an almost complete remake. It's controversial, it's different, and at times, is brilliant. But does it work?
With all the news about DLC for the months-old PC version of Painkiller: Hell & Damnation as well as collector's editions for the console releases, Mac and Linux gamers might feel a bit left out. But Nordic Games wants to remind you that hell and damnation can be shared by everyone, regardless of operating system. Releasing this spring, Painkiller: Hell & Damnation will finally make its way to both Mac and Linux! To quote the official announcement: "muaaaaaahahahahahahaha".
The world of computer game journalism is a slick place full of the latest multimedia and snazzy events. Or is it? Sometimes it’s a bloke with a camcorder filming a screen during a SXSW event. The excitement for this new trailer does not come from the slightly odd angle, but the fact it is a video teasing an upcoming vault hunter for Borderlands 2.
With all this talk about Diablo 3’s PlayStation 4 future, we’d think most would like to hear about what’s not so far off in the distance instead. As we are told by Blizzard, fans will be happy to know that co-op specific improvements will be arriving to Diablo 3 in its upcoming patch.
Resident Evil fans, rejoice! Resident Evil 6 released for Xbox 360 and PS3 back on the 2'nd of October last year. While some complained about the changes to the formula, others thought it was a great survival horror/action title. It was certainly a fun romp for co-op play. In case you haven't read our review, you can do so here.
This week there's not a whole lot going on. Co-op is coming to one of the PlayStation 3's flagship titles, but not much else is happening on the cooperative front. If you don't have a PS3 you can catch up on your backlog. You know it's mocking you.
The more I see of Defiance, the more I like it. The latest trailer features some sweet new weapons and modifications. I'm not really sure how the mod system works, but it looks like players will be able to adapt weapons to their specific playstyles --especially if those playstyles focus on using biological weapons and high explosives. I think I even saw a mortar launcher with a bayonet attached to it. Hey, if you want to mix and match artillery and melee combat, that's fine with me.
