Story, Guns, Explosions and Expletives - Must be the new Army of Two: TDC Trailer

Co-Optimus readers have seen their fair share of Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel trailers in the past few weeks, but it is to be expected with the 2 player co-op title due out on the 26th March.  The majority of the videos have teased weapons or gameplay mechanics; in this new trailer (via GameTrailers) we get a glimpse into the story and the many explosions that will unfold.

Gears of War: Judgment Season Pass Offers Permanent Double XP Bonuses

The trend with most AAA titles nowadays is that they’ll more than likely produce a Season Pass of some kind, the Gears of War series being no different. Epic’s upcoming title, Gears of War: Judgment, will be offering its own Season Pass deal, but with a new twist: a permanent, double XP bonus to those who choose to purchase it.

BattleBlock Theater Video Features Co-Op - Or Does It?

A new video teasing BattleBlock Theater has surfaced. This one features gameplay which is not really co-op, but it's not really versus, either. Two players seem to be working toward a common goal, but they're doing it in a such a passive aggressive way. It reminds me of a bickering couple who has been married for about a decade too long. And then of course, there's all the murder.

A Valley Without Wind 2 Co-Op Review

Part strategy, part platformer, part RPG, part board game. A Valley Without Wind 2 takes a lot of different elements and throws them together in a single release. The crazy thing is it works, and it works really well. A massive improvement over the original and a superb game in its own right, A Valley Without Wind 2 is a deep and rewarding strategy game that's going to collect groups of extremely devoted fans.

Pain plus damnation plus stickers equals fun!

Painkiller: Hell and Damnation Collector's Edition for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Announced

Painkiller: Hell and Damnation has been one of those games that gives its love to PC gamers first, console players later. The game hit Windows late last year and has already had a patch and two pieces of DLC to spruce up the experience. While the console versions won't hit until April, publisher Nordic Games plans on keeping the experience as parallel as possible. Case in point: Painkiller: Hell & Damnation Collector's Edition for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The Animated "Ark Hunter Chronicles" Revealed for Defiance

Defiance kind of came out of nowhere for us, a game that plays like an MMO but doesn't feature MMO monthly fees. Available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC - Defiance puts players in the role of an Ark Hunter.  Set in a futuristic Earth, the game shares a story with a TV show of the same name, and events seen in both the game and the TV show will affect each other - at least - that's what we're told.

Who can say no to co-op games on the cheap?

Steam Week Long Sale Features Krater, Other Co-Op Games

It may not be as epic as the winter or summer sales, but this week's list of Steam deals isn't too shabby. Six games are on sale for 66-75% off, including three games that support co-op play. Topping the list is Krater, the post-apocalyptic role playing game that supports online and LAN co-op for two players. Capsized and Section 8: Prejudice also feature co-op modes, the former supporting two player local games and the latter online and LAN for up to four players.

Free and paid DLC in the works

Soul Sacrifice Video Features Four Minutes of Savage Spell Casting

Soul Sacrifice looms ever closer, now just a few short months away. I finally got my hands on the Japanese language demo and took it for a spin. Comcept's third person foray into spell casting fueled by self mutilation is a wild ride. Once again I was instantly reminded that I still can't read Japanese. You think I'd get on that. Lucky for me, my badass menu navigation skills are universal. I battled my way through the menus until I got to the real meat of the game. If you have an extra Vita memory card and a Japanes PSN account I highly recommend checking it out.

No Cross-Connectivity Between Playstation and PC Diablo 3

To everyone's surprise during the big PS4 reveal last week, Blizzard graced the audience with their presence. Many of us sat and gazed in wonder, and if they were anything like me, were praying for some sort of reboot of Blackthorne. What we did get was what pretty much anyone could have expected - a port of Diablo 3 to the PS3 and the PS4. In a previous article, we covered the fact that the console versions of Diablo 3 will be playable with up to four players both offline and online.

Co-Opticast Episode 102: The PlayStation 4 Episode

The PlayStation 4 has been announced! But we haven't seen it, so how can it be real? We discuss the specs and what they mean - is it a PC? Is it a console? How many videos can you stream? Does it even game, bro? There's also plenty of chat about what we've been playing and of course there's tales from the bonfire - which means more Dark Souls talk much to Jason and Nick's chagrin. Also we have cheat codes for classic Genesis games.

Will zombie sniping be a PC only affair?

Interview with Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army Developer Rebellion

Sniper Elite v2 turned out to be one fun co-op game. Post-release, though, the co-op side of things hasn't gotten as much loving as we hoped. Recent news of a standalone title, Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army, that allowed for even more friends (up to 4) but is PC only had us wondering, "will consoles just be left out in the cold?" We went straight to the source, developer Rebellion, and asked them about Sniper Elite v2 and if we can expect anything console-wise for Sniper Elite: NZA.
