Like it or not, Dead Space 3 has optional co-op play.  While the gameplay addition may be controversial for purists of the series, it was a welcomed addition to the game here on Co-Optimus.  We've gone to Tau Volantis and back again to bring you the most detailed information about Dead Space 3's co-op mode in FAQ style..  It's easy to see that Visceral have crafted a a unique experience paying attention to both single player and co-op and making sure it's as seamless as possible.

Seems like all the MMOs are going Free-to-Play these days, whether they started as sub-based games, or they're just launching straight-up F2P. So perhaps it's unsurprising that this month our stories come from three F2P games: TERA, Neverwinter, and Wizardry Online.

Paradox Interactive have announced that they are continuing their long standing tradition of publishing games with the name Magicka in the title.  The next game in the series is something a bit different, as it takes our robed wizards into the mobile world.  Magicka: Wizards of the Square Tablet is a brand new side scrolling game featuring four player online co-op for iPad and Android tablets.

The game was Army of Two; the ability was to design your own in-game mask.  What better way to make your avatar obvious across a crowded room?  Or perhaps, to insult a friend?  My mask said "Stu Must Die", a simple message that made our co-op friendship tighter.  Thankfully, I shall be able to recreate this famous mask in Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel, who will receive my sardonic eye this time?  Check out the new trailer that highlights the mask making ability.

According to a statement by Capcom on their official forums, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for Wii U will be region-locked. The news first appeared in a Spanish GameReactor interview, but was later confirmed to be true through the Capcom official forums. Capcom community specialist Yuri states on the message boards:

Everyone's favorite little monsters will return to the 3DS in March with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. The next iteration in the Pokemon rogue-esque spinoff series Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, will feature a few firsts for the series, including a special mode designed for you and your friends.

There is no doubt about it: the Borderlands 2 community wants a level cap increase, and they want it now. Unfortunately for them, this will most likely not be included in any future Borderlands 2 updates and for very good reasons.

Last week there was a bit of a hullabaloo concerning microtransactions in Dead Space 3. Players can now spend real life money on in-game digital resources. It was as if EA had never charged players for better items in a Dead Space game before (they have). Not only has EA charged consumers for advanced weaponry and skins, people seem to love it. Most Marketplace items have at least a four star rating --and we all know the Xbox Live Marketplace star ratings are infallible. Or not. The point is, people have been paying for Dead Space extras for years.

It's a necromorph filled weekend for the Co-Opticrew as several members of the team blast their way through Dead Space 3.  We'll have our full co-op review of the game on Monday, but here's a hint, it's pretty awesome.  Other than that Dark Souls just doesn't seem to go away and Aliens: Colonial Marines is on one editor's to do list for a launch day review.

What do you get when you combined a formula created by Smash T.V. with a demented fantasy filled theme park where the only thing riding is the heads of the enemies you lopped off? You get DungeonLand a new action game with some addictive elements and plenty of co-op action.

Exciting news comes from Japan with leaked information and pictures of Mario Kart: Arcade GP DX. Nintendo is teaming up with Namco Bandai again to bring us the continuation of the karting classic. It seems the two monoliths are becoming rather well acquainted as they are also bro'ing up for the next Super Smash Bros. title. The catch? It is an arcade title currently exclusive to Japan. Previous installments in the Japanese arcades include Mario Kart Arcade GP and Mario Kart Arcade GP2.

After recent news surfaced that Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge would go multiplatform, Ubisoft mentioned the same news for Rayman Legends today. It was initially believed that Rayman Legends would be a Wii U exclusive, and due to the success of the previous game, a huge boon for the system. However, news came today that Ubisoft would be launching Rayman Legends on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in addition to the Wii U. As if this news wasn't startling enough, it was also stated that the game would be pushed back from it's February 26, 2013 release date to some time in September.
