With a special appearance by the Khukuri Shaman

New Video Features Sacred Citadel's Ancarian Ranger

Sacred Citadel will be hitting the digital markets later this year. It's a cooperative side scrolling brawler set in the Sacred universe you know and love, and it will act as a prequel to events in the much anticipated Sacred 3. We got our hands on Sacred Citadel a few months ago at PAX. We had a good time slaughtering our enemies as we engaged in three player local co-op. If you're familiar with Golden Axe, you get the idea. Sacred Citadel is one of those games that looks much better in motion. Screenshots don't really do it justice.

Co-Driver promises more than just a navigator

Need For Speed Most Wanted on WiiU Will Have Local Co-Op

One of my favorite co-op games in the past few years was Criterion's Burnout Paradise. I'm really not into the whole racing sim genre, but that game was crazy and fun. Particularly when you played co-op. Unfortunately, Criterion's next couple of big release games, this time in the Need for Speed series, didn't offer up any of that same co-op fun. Criterion seems to be remedying that, to a degree, with the WiiU release of Need for Speed Most Wanted, which will include a two-player local co-op mode.

The DLC...it's coming from inside the release date!

An Extended Trailer for Aliens: Colonial Marines, Survival Co-Op DLC Exposed

Aliens: Colonial Marines will finally see the light of day next week, over four years after the game was announced. The Gearbox developed title will focus on cooperative play between marines as they take on swarms of alien baddies set in the familiar universe. To celebrate the launch, publisher SEGA has sent along a fresh look at the trailer called "Contact."  If it seems familiar, a shorter version of it was released last year.

Ancient history never looked so good

Dynasty Warriors 8 - New Screenshots, Characters, Confirmed Co-Op, and More

Good tidings come from ancient China to those who love a good hack-n'-slash. Everyone's favorite Chinese mob masher will return with the next exciting entry titled Dynasty Warriors 8. As we inch closer to the Japanese February 28th release date, Famitsu has recently confirmed six playable characters, and "on-off" two-player co-op.  What this means exactly is not clear.  It may refer to a combination of offline and online co-op, or drop-in and drop-out co-op.

Atari and THQ games stand on the brink

THQ and Atari Games: Which XBLA Games are Reduced or Gone?

Farewell THQ and Atari US, parting is such sweet sorrow.  As these two former giants of the game developing world slip into the eternal night, what will happen to their downloadable games?  If XBLA is any indication; some games will be pulled, some reduced and some not touched at all!  Voltron has been delisted, Yar's Revenge and The Undergarden have been reduced, whilst Warhammer 40K: Kill Team remains untouched.  Confused?  You will be.

A new web storefront to find indie games hits beta

ShinyLoot Gives Gamers A New Way to Find Indie Co-Op Games

As indie gaming continues to grow, especially in the PC space, it's starting to run into a bit of a problem - namely it's becoming difficult to find the type of indie game you'd enjoy.  Sites like Desura and GoG.com are a good place to find games but sometimes there's just too many to casually browse.  Indie developers have their own problem, while Steam Greenlight gives them a path to the promised land, there's still stiff competition to get on the service.  This means indies are fighting to get noticed by the exact people they want to play their games.  This is where ShinyLoot comes in, a new store front launching in beta today for indie PC games.

Brace yourself (and your wallet) for the next installment in the Skylanders series

Skylanders SWAP Force Hands-Off Preview

Yesterday evening I headed down to the NASDAQ building in Times Square for an exclusive first look at the newly announced Skylanders SWAP Force. I am sad to report that if Skylanders has its hooks in you (or your kids or your wallet), SWAP Force will likely just drive them deeper in. The new skylanders and brand new mechanic introduced with SWAP Force look just as addicting, if not more so.
