That's right. "Thrusts."

Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear Thrusts Into Retailers Today

You may not have heard of Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear. You may not know about its predecessor, Heavy Fire: Afghanistan. You may be looking at the screen cap above and you may be saying to yourself, "Holy crap, this looks like another budget military first person shooter! None for me, thanks." Well, you'd be wrong. Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear is a budget military on-rails shooter. That's right. 20 bucks of mess-you-up is coming to a retailer near you sooner than you think. Of course, you probably read the headline, so you're most likely thinking "today," and you'd be right. Good for you!

PC gamers get tougher Mercenaries Mode

Are PC Gamers the Hardest? Resident Evil 6 Mercenaries 'No Mercy' Mode

Put your average PC gamer up against your average console gamer and what have you got?  Not two pasty looking blokes in their 20s, but different gaming audiences, with differing tastes.  Capcom certainly believe this to be true and they consider the PC gamer to be a little hardier.  The PC version of Resident Evil 6 will have an exclusive super tough version of Mercenaries Mode called 'No Mercy'.

Dead Space 3: Take Down The Terror Trailer

The Dead Space 3 launch trailer is here, and boy, is it pretty. In case you've been ignoring all Dead Space-related news since last summer's E3, you should know that this is the first time the sci-fi survival horror title will support cooperative play. Nick and I recently played through the now public cooperative demo, and we both were impressed by the game.

BattleBlock Theater Beta Access Giveaway

It wasn't so long ago we told you about a beta that was going to be taking place for BattleBlock Theater, The Behemoth's next co-op game coming to Xbox Live Arcade.  As we mentioned, this beta test actually has a set of scheduled tests and tasks to complete - it's not just a glorified demo.  That said it's still a great way to get a feeling for just what kind of game BattleBlock Theater is and a great way to test the two player local or online co-op mode.

5 years of cooperative gaming.

Co-Optimus Turns Five

Five years ago while searching through the internet for a co-op game to play with my friend a half dozen states away, I became frustrated.  I couldn't believe how difficult it was to find concrete information on what games supported co-op play and what games supported online co-op play.  That's when I decided that I could build a database to help other gamers like my friend and I who didn't want anything to do with competitive gameplay, but would rather work together to accomplish a goal.  A few months later Co-Optimus was born.  We started small launching with only around 250 cooperative titles in our database, but in two short years we had already reached 1000.  Soon the site was more than just a database, but a news source and a community.
