Assassin's Creed 3 Receives Large Patch, Even Larger Sales Figures

Advertised with the release of Assassin's Creed III was a very special DLC package that featured American President George Washington in a sinister fashion. Appropriately named "The Tyranny of King Washington," the content is to be centered around an alternate tale of the American Revolution featuring George Washington as a power hungry monarch. Part one of the three-part DLC is set to be released for the Xbox 360 and PC next week on February 19th, with the Playstation 3 version to be available the following day.

Torchlight 2 Co-Op Night and Steam Sale

I swear, whoever is in charge of setting up sales at Steam keeps an eye on our chatter here, because the past several PC co-op nights we've announced were accompanied by a Steam sale for the same game. Perhaps it's just coincidence, since Steam is always having sales, but I like to think we have some influence on the industry.

From bony punk to bony punk with a shirt on

New Character Concept Art for XBLA Brawler Charlie Murder

Ska Studios has slowly been releasing pieces of concept art and screenshots for its upcoming Xbox Live Arcade beat-em-up RPG (brawl-PG, if you will) Charlie Murder. The most recent piece shows Lester Deth's transition from shirtless punk with pale skin to a shirt-wearing punk with darker skin. Actually, several of the characters seem to have started out shirtless, including the band's manager and hypnotist, Kelly Skitten. Don't worry, though. Resident massive human, The Rexecutioner, is still brawling and drumming topless.

A Look at Co-Op in Need For Speed: Most Wanted on the Wii U

It wasn't long ago we learned that the Wii U was getting a special version of Need for Speed Most Wanted, complete with a local co-op mode.  I recently went hands on with the game and checked out just how the co-op works, and while it's not a "true" co-op mode in the sense there are separate players working together for some sort of common progression, what is there is a family friendly way to play together.

It's classic gaming time! GOG.com has just released System Shock 2, the spiritual predecessor to BioShock and one of the first games that made everybody stand up and nod approvingly at Ken Levine. Set in a dark cyberpunk world, System Shock 2 combines first person shooting and survivor horror elements with an intricate character customization system, giving players an enormous amount of freedom to tinker with skills like hacking, psionic powers, and good old fashion gun shooting.

Co-Opticast Episode 101: DungeonSpace Land 3

We're a man down this week, most likely because of contracting some strange necromorphing virus. Locke, Jason and Nick hold down the fort and give their impressions of DungeonLand on the PC and Dead Space 3. There's plenty of co-op, plenty of gore, and surprisingly lots of goodies pop out of corpses in both games.

A Hands-On Look at Co-Op in the New SimCity

If you read my beta impressions of SimCity, you know that EA has crafted a slick sequel to the series that refines things just enough to feel fresh, but keeps a lot of the traditional strategy elements we love.  One downside to the beta was that the multiplayer options were disabled - so it was tough to see exactly how players could cooperate.  Luckily at a recent event that EA held, I was able to get hands on with the full game and play around with the multiplayer options.
